The map below shows the inducer and exducer sizes in millimeters. Precision and Turbonetics follow a different terminology than Borg Warner. Borg Warner denotes the exducer of the compressor and inducer of the turbine, while Precision denotes the opposite. So to get a better understanding of similar turbos, we have highlighted the bold #'s for comparison to the Precision line up of turbochargers.
For instance, Precisions turbo 6262 would be closely related the Borg Warner 6264. Being that the Borg Warner's turbine wheels are made from Titanium and are half the weight of Turbonetics Precision and Garrets Inconel wheels, you can afford to have a bigger turbine wheel 64mm compared to 62mm because it will spool up quicker and be able to eat more exhaust gasses. Turbine wheels are the main factor in limiting HP, so with the same size compressor wheel, the Borg Warner units are able to support more HP than their competitors, while spooling even quicker!
